Back Body Breathing: Series Introduction with Jules Mitchell
Segmented Breathing Series with Jules Mitchell • 2m 35s
Hi, I’m Jules Mitchell, author of Yoga Biomechanics: Stretching Redefined. I’m a Las Vegas based yoga educator, but I’ve lived plenty of years in Los Angeles and San Francisco. I did my undergrad at University of Arizona and my graduate studies at University of California, Long Beach.
My unique approach blends the tradition of yoga with my extensive study in biomechanics to help teachers develop their craft and empower them with education. I am all about achieving ease in movement through deliberate effort, thus my teachings integrate numerous modalities, balancing the somatic aspects of yoga with the most current themes in exercise science.
Bringing the most useful and applicable pieces of research into the yoga community is my passion. I pride myself in having one foot in the hard sciences and the other foot in the experiential aspects of the yoga practice. I believe there is a need for both in the pursuit of autonomy on the mat.
I am thrilled to share my work with the Yoga Detour community as I know Cecily and I share a passion for asking tough questions, especially when it invokes a discerning analysis of popular opinions.
